Why Choose A-JOINT® READY?

German Precision Built for the UK Climate

Engineered in Germany, A-JOINT® READY performs reliably in a wide range of weather conditions—from summer heat to winter frost. Designed for UK outdoor environments, it delivers long-lasting strength, flexibility, and durability.

Step-by-Step Application Guide

1. Preparing the Site

Remove all weeds, roots, and loose material from the joints to a minimum depth of 30 mm. Ensure no residue remains. Clean the paving surface thoroughly and remove all dirt. Protect adjacent areas that are not being jointed by taping or covering them. To prevent sinking or loose paving, we recommend a permanently water-permeable, load-bearing substructure suitable for the expected traffic load.

2. Pre-Wetting

Thoroughly pre-wet the entire surface using clean, cold water. Porous stone and warm weather conditions require more intensive pre-wetting.

3. Filling the Joints

Apply A-JOINT® READY evenly over the surface and brush it into the joints, ensuring they are fully filled to the required depth. The joints must be cleaned out of weeds, roots and loose parts to a depth of at least 30 mm without leaving any residue. The surface to be jointed must be cleaned from any dirt. Adjacent surfaces that are not to be jointed should be taped off or covered.

4. Cleaning the Surface

Immediately after jointing, clean the surface carefully using a fine broom, brushing diagonally across the joints. Remove all excess material from the paving surface. Do not reuse swept-off material. Ensure chamfers (beveled edges) on slabs and pavers remain fully exposed.

5. After-Treatment & Curing

Protect the freshly jointed area from heavy or continuous rain for 12–24 hours. Construction foil or tarpaulins can be laid directly on the surface.

  • Walkable after 24 hours (at approx. 20°C)

  • Full curing may take several weeks in cold or humid conditions

Light sanding of the mortar surface may occur due to natural raw materials. Cleaning with a pressure washer (max. 100 bar, minimum 30 cm distance) is permitted after 7 days.

Important Information

Resin Film

After application, a thin resin film may remain on the stone surface. This enhances colour and offers temporary protection against dirt. The film will naturally disappear over time through weathering and use.

If unsure, we recommend creating a small test area before full application. The resin film does not affect joint performance or quality and is not considered a defect.

Application Notes

  • Use only on stable, load-bearing, permanently water-permeable substructures or surfaces with a minimum 2% slope

  • Do not use in permanently wet areas such as pools, fountains, or drains

  • A temporary odour may be noticeable during curing and will disappear once fully hardened

  • Apply only in well-ventilated outdoor areas

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing

  • Keep tools and footwear clean during application

Regularly remove dirt, leaves, and moss to maintain joint appearance and performance.
